Guide to Leveling

This leveling guide is based on personal experience as a Paladin and DLC-unlocked contents but I think it is also applicable to the other combat lifes.

Level 1-40++
There is not many options about for lower levels. Normally, you can even finish the main story with one combat life around level 30++. I reached level 40+ when I completed the main story. I did take on a few lifes at the same time (paladin, miner, woodcutter, and blacksmith) and completed their quests up to master rank alongside with the main story.

Here is some tips on leveling during this period:

1. Ignore the side quest by NPC if you can. While some quests are easy, most of them requires crafting or gathering lifes to be completed. The reward is not that great and it is time-consuming.

2. Pick up a crafting class, woodcutter and miner. Definitely pick up a crafting life that compliments with your current combat life. For example, Paladin/Mercenary with Blacksmith or Hunter/Wizard with Carpenter. For woodcutter and miner, you would require to cut 500 trees and mine 500 ores to complete their side quests later. So, it is better to start early and mine/cut as you progress the story.

3. Bounties are most probably the best way to level and to farm so early dosh. Pick a spot where the bounty clerk is nearby to a bounty. Kill the bounty, turn in the bounty and exit the map to respawn the bounty. Remember to get your own horse (unlock with bliss) as horse can transfer bounties faster.

Most bounties and mobs regenerate upon exiting the map while some boss class bounties (napdragon and etc) require "sleeping" in inn or house to respawn. The following are some recommended spots. They are not restricted to levels but rather when you can get access to the maps or feel comfortable on those spots:

i) Mountain Snowpeak
This is one of the easiest spot to farm. Kill the black panther bounty which usually spawn nearby the bounty clerk. Turn in the bounty and enter the building to respawn the panther. Rinse and repeat.

ii) Tortuga Archipelago
Tortuga Archipelago has several bounties with a bounty clerk in the northeast of the map. The distance between bounties and maps are not that huge thus making this a great spot to farm as well. Reset map by entering the hut/nautilus cave.

iii) Aridian Desert
This desert is a bit hard for those who are undergeared. However, the map size is small and filled with bounties. The bandit, killer bee, and spooky are in close proximity with the bounty clerk on the south east of the map. Reset the map by going into ancient ruins which is just located east side of the map.

Level 40++ to 50 (Post Main Story)
After completed the main story, players are required to reach level 50 to unlock origin island (DLC only). The options are as follow:

1. Farm napdragon (probably the easiest)
-Napdragon offers great exp and dosh. Remember to get npc allies like Odin or King Erik (he is quite OP until some other allies are unlocked). Get a horse, kill napdragon in east grass plains, put the bounty somewhere safe and teleport back to your house in castele to sleep. Repeat until you have 3 bounties of napdragon and turn in the bounty at castele.

2. Work on life quest
-DLC unlocks creator rank. So why not work on those life ranks. The priority should be on combat life first as to prepare for origin island's tower trial. I manage to get to level 50+ just by gathering materials from trees and mining.

Level 50 onwards

Leveling towards level 200...it takes quite a while but I have seen people hitting level 200 in less that a week.

1. Get fanciful feet from exchange clerk with lunares gold coin. It costs 7 lunares gold coins and gives 2x exp. A very high priority item if you want to level up fast. (Will do a guide on coin farming later on)

2. Chose strong NPC allies. Pick up Ophelia (the queen is crazy strong), Mustang, Fern or Jinx when they are available.

3. Start off by farming bounties in origin island. Central plain is a good option as the bounty (those mana bounties) are nearby to a bounty clerk in northeast.

4. Around level 50+, attempt trial of time. Remember to upgrade your gears and bring in more pots. Trial of time is one of the best place to farm exp. The bounties (except for boss bounties) can be reset by going down/up a floor. There is a bounty clerk on the 4th floor. So just farm those bounties around 3rd or 5th floor and turn in your bounties on the 4th floor. Repeat until you get to around level 75.

5. Around level 75, the trial of darkness is unlocked. In my opinion, trial of darkness can be completed at level 75 but it is tedious and the mobs hit hard. I would gear myself up even more or continue farming trial of time until I can reach 80+ before attempting this tower.

6. Coin farming requires a lot preparation but the rewards are great. I gained most of my levels from level 100 onwards from here as I farmed more than 100 coins. Some of the gears from lunares coins are needed to gear for end-game. It requires creator rank's special request. It is recommended to do the special request by Tailor's Master as it is the easiest in my opinion. More on this when I have the time.

7. Trial of Light is the final tower in the game and to be honest, I am still sticking to trial of darkness.. More on this once I can finish this tower.

Hope this helps. Enjoy!
